In 2007, Ms. Ceballos was offered the role of La Nina Tula in the U.S. West Coast premiere of Ernesto Lecuona’s “Maria la O” with The Bilingual Foundation of the Arts (BFA) in Los Angeles. This was to be her debut in her first Zarzuela Opera production. Soon after, she performed F. M. Torroba’s Spanish Zarzuela "Luisa Fernanda", at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre and The Million Dollar Theatre in Los Angeles, with the Pacific Lyric Association. Others followed.
Edna sees it as a special mission of hers to reach out to the community with hopes of inspiring people to reach high and live out their dreams. Her versatility in different musical genres has allowed her to portray various roles and role types.
She has trained with accomplished musicians from around the world and regularly performs in concerts and recitals throughout California. In addition, she has been a recipient of the following vocal scholarship competitions: The Opera Reading Club of Hollywood, the Phi Beta Chapter Award, and also the USC Mexican American (TELACU) Arts Scholarship Award.
She is under the vocal direction of her mentor and coach, Seth Riggs.
